Neem.fr is a website for nature enthusiasts actively supporting the development of Neem. Our goal is to facilitate information for the public and professionals to draw attention to the many possible applications of Neem.

Neem Oil

The quality of neem oil varies depending on the manufacturing methods.

The almond extracted from the Neem kernel is transformed into Neem oil, either by a hot process that yields larger quantities but has an insecticide content (azadirachtin) of only 300 ppm (parts per million), or by a cold-press process that achieves an insecticide content (azadirachtin) of over 1600 ppm.

The natural preparation Neem oil is made from dried fruits that are crushed and cold-pressed.

The effectiveness of Neem oil has been validated, for example, by Bretagne Biotechnologie Végétale (BBV), a specialist in biostimulants. Trials in fertilization and crop protection have shown a clear effectiveness of the products. Neem oil is also a true natural alternative to chemical pesticides and fertilizers.

Properties of Neem Oil :

  • Providing nitrogen, sulfur, and trace elements to plants
  • Improvement of the health condition of plants
  • Stimulator of natural defenses

Neem pellets

Neem pellets are obtained by drying and double grinding the whole fruits of the Neem tree, then compacting them. Pellets facilitate the application of Neem cake with a seeder. Cold granulation and the use of whole fruits ensure a high content of Azadirachtin at 700 ppm ! An ideal fertilizer for organic agriculture.

Advantages:

  • Neem pellets are safe for humans, mammals, and birds.
  • It does not affect pollinating insects.
  • The soil alkalinity is reduced by the calcium and magnesium present in the product.
  • The results obtained from tests conducted on the growth of lettuce indicate that the pellets applied at a dose of 6% provide a result equivalent to the reference fertilizer.
  • Protection tests against cyclamen fusarium wilt have shown superior effectiveness compared to the reference chemical product.
  • In Bourgogne, winemakers already use it for soil disinfection and against flavescence.
  • Mainly used for organic production and conventional food production.
  • In organic agriculture, it is used as a fertilizer, providing approximately 82% organic matter, as well as macro and micronutrients.
  • In livestock farming, to obtain 40% crude protein and 7% oil extract, it must be used as an ingredient in animal feed and rations.

Properties of Neem Pellets :

  • Provision of easily applicable and readily available organic matter
  • Easily assimilated by the plant (cold granulation without protein heating)
  • Strengthening of the clay-humus complex
  • Provision of trace elements to plants
  • Improvement of the health condition of plant roots
  • Stimulator of natural defenses

About Neem

In Brazil, all fruit and vegetable producers, as well as agricultural product distributors, are familiar with Neem, a commonly used product since 2001, especially for animals and agriculture.

The Organic Alternative

Azadirachtin-A, naturally present in Neem, effectively fights against a large number of pests. Over the last 25 years, entomologists have isolated more than 400 different species…

Did You Know ?

At maturity, the Neem tree can produce up to 50kg of fruit, which is equivalent to 30kg of seeds; these seeds are the main source of insecticidal compounds, including azadirachtin. However, the quantity of azadirachtin in the seeds varies considerably depending on climatic conditions, soil conditions, and the tree’s genotype (Ermel 1986; Singh 1986).
